Alternate ending
If you fight Mantis with a Sixaxis controller, the ending is different than if you were using a DualShock 3 controller.
Attacking wolves
In Act 4, kill one of the wolves after you defeat Crying Wolf. The others attack you. Call Otacon and he will wince. Call Rose and she will tell you that animal cruelty is the first sign of criminal behavior, and says that she will have you psychologically assessed if you continue to kill them.

Big Boss Extreme difficulty
Complete the single-player mode once (and saving the cleared data).
After death messages
After dying, call Rose to get a conversation about Snake having dreams of being killed or a comment from Snake saying that he feels like he’s died once before.

Cheat codes make games more enjoyable. Just remember that no matter what you are playing be it Halo, Grand Theft Auto or Mario Kart that you respect your opponents. Don't taunt them too much. Also if you win all the time, you might find that people will no longer want to play with you.

It won't matter what it is. They won't even want to play bingo or old maid with you. So be careful not to alienate people.

There should be no moral dilemma attached to cheat codes and people shouldn't get the wrong idea about them. They don't mean you are cheating, per say. What they do is give you access to in-game features that otherwise you would have no way of accessing. Kind of like the extras that come with a DVD.
